The modern age of technology poses unique challenges for real estate agents, as well as providing new opportunities.
For a prospective real estate agent, the challenge of attracting, engaging and doing business with clients via social media could seem an intimidating and time-consuming endeavour.
Fortunately, we have spoken to a number of South Australian real estate’s most prolific users of social media, who can shed light on the strategies essential to success in this area, and the effectiveness of them.
How important do you deem social media to success in the real estate industry in this day and age?
Social media is crucial in gaining exposure for any business looking to succeed in today’s world. It’s an ideal platform to continually keep on top of your target audience.
What strategies do you employ to market yourself on social media?
I try to ensure a post is created each day. At a minimum 5 days a week. I try to link to current events as well as include a personal aspect to many posts. Trying at all times to not be too generic.
What social media platforms do you use and why?
I utilise both Facebook & Instagram. I find Facebook the best platform to portray an extended message, while Instagram is a great way to incorporate a short, concise message into a picture.
Which demographics are you trying to target when promoting on social media?
My goal is generally to keep the messages sent out on social media very general, while at specific times trying to hone in on a specific demographic which the targeted message will appeal.
How does the effectiveness of social media marketing compare to other methods of reaching clients, such as physical advertisement and face-to-face encounters?
I don’t feel that anything will ever replace face to face meetings. I feel social media complements other forms of top of mind marketing easily & cost effectively.
