Selecting a house plan that optimises the space and natural features of a block can be confusing. Start Up, and future industry game-changer, MyHouseBlock.com aims to make this process modern, engaging and fun.

Co-founder Carol Wernowski, says the concept came through personal experience. “We had friends who were trying to find a house suitable for their block. We spent weeks considering plans, trying to make them fit.”

Still in early stages of production, MyHouseBlock.com will allow house plans to be digitally flipped or turned, to find the perfect plan/house combination. Built in alerts will notify of any building and boundary requirements not met. Gradients will be represented with shading in accordance to deviation from sea level.

“Buyers will have a better understanding of the space available for a home, and how to best use that space. Sheds, pools and extra parking also become easier to plan,” Carol says.

The sun/shade indicator will ensure buyers can take advantage of natural light and energy. “They can confirm the line of sun on a particular block at any time of day, any time of year. This is great for planning heating and cooling, along with outdoor entertaining areas,” Carol says.

MyHouseBlock.com currently focuses on land estates and builders in Australia, with the vision to expand globally. An early beta has now been loaded with three land estates and three house plans for testing.

“With everything online, people like to save time and to have more control. Our site will allow a buyer to do their research at any place or time, and narrow down their likes and dislikes. They can then arrive at the sales agent knowing exactly what they want,” Carol says.

The potential of MyHouseBlock.com is extensive. Future releases will see additional features and tools being added. It’s definitely one to watch.

Any land estates or builders Australia-wide wanting to be involved in MyHouseBlock.com, can contact Carol through MyHouseBlock.com or Linkedin.
