The last weekend of February proved to be a bumper one as 40 auctions were held across Adelaide.
29 properties sold at auction for a clearance rate of 73%.
A handful of properties in the South-Western region of the City sold for million dollar prices, which took the average sale price for the weekend up to a healthy $678,348.
Auctioneer Nathan Casserly of Ouwens Casserly Real Estate and agent Linda Von Hooff had the two highest sales of the weekend.
A three bedroom, seaside home in Grange had the privilege on being the most expensive sale for the weekend after fetching $2.13 million on Saturday.
The pair followed that up with another three bedroom home not too far away in Grange selling for $1.07 million, capping off a huge weekend for Ouwens Casserly.
Peter Fried of Toop&Toop was not too far behind with a 3 bedroom home and the adjacent vacant bloke in Park Holme selling for $1.03 million.
Mr. Fried also had another property sell for $680,000 in Linden Park.
Elsewhere, Jason O’Halloran of Ray White Morphett Vale had a record breaking sale in Ascott Park (not shown in spreadsheet).
8 Third Avenue Ascott Park smashed the previous record for highest sale price in the area after selling for $630,000.
The largest sum for a similar property in the area within the last 12 month was $593,000, substantially less than O’Halloran’s 5 bedroom home.
Bronte Manuel had a 100% clearance rate over the weekend with 4 sales, one of those selling prior to auction.
Mark Fricker of LJ Hooker Walkerville | Modbury had a massive individual weekend, with 7 sales – one of which was sold prior – and one property held over.
The month of March is set to get even madder with a busy opening weekend for the auction market.
30 auctions are currently scheduled to take place over the 4th and 5th.
