Adelaide enjoyed a good week of auctions last week despite a decrease in the number of properties listed compared to the previous week.
48 auctions were held in the second week of June, down from 80. However, 36 properties sold for a 75% clearance rate for the week, a 10% increase on the previous week.
In the first week of June, a total of 6 properties were sold at auction for above a million dollars but fast forward a week and only one property came close to cracking seven figures.
38 Corunna Avenue in Colonel Light Gardens sold for $997,000 on Saturday the 10th, $3000 shy of reaching $1 million.
Husband and wife duo Angela and Michael Stentiford of Ouwens Casserly Real Estate were the selling agents for the 4 bedroom home located in the historic suburb in the Adelaide foothills.
Data from CoreLogic shows that the home has increased in value each time it has come on the market. First listed in 1995, the property sold for $177,000.
Earlier in the week on Thursday, Patrick Haymes of Klemich Real Estate finalized the sale of a 2 bedroom home located in North Plympton for $810,000 – the largest sale for the day and the third largest of the week.
On Friday the 9th, a 3 bedroom home in Beaumont sold for $731,000 – the largest sale for the day. Verity Patterson of LJ Hooker Kensington/Unley handed over the keys to the homes new owner.
Peter Kiritsis and Thomas Crawford of Ray White Woodville oversaw the sale of a 4 bedroom home in St Clair on Wednesday. The property sold for $730,000, which was just $1000 short of making it into the top 5 for largest sales of the week. However, it was the largest sale on Wednesday.
There was just the one home up for auction on Monday, with Jordan McMahon of Phil McMahon Real Estate selling a 3 bedroom home in Flinders Park for $575,000 after being on the market for only a month.
5 properties were sold prior to going to auction last week for undisclosed prices, another 5 were sold on the day but their final sale prices were not made available to the public.
3 properties up for auction on the 10th were withdrawn, while 6 properties were passed in. 3 homes were also held over.
