May in Adelaide came to a close with a bumper last week of auctions.
78 auctions were held throughout the week, with a total of 46 sold for a clearance rate of 59% and an average sale price of $589,009.
There was just million dollar sale last week, which belonged to Michael Brock of Harcourts Brock Estates.
Mr. Brock’s two storey, four bedroom in Glen Osmond failed to sell on the day and was passed in.
However, the property was put back on the market and sold privately for a healthy $1.8 million.
The beautiful home was expected to sell for around $1.85 million, meaning that it sold for slightly below what was expected.
Having been built in 1952, data from CoreLogic shows that the property was last on the market 25 years ago where it sold for just $225,000.
Having undergone extensive renovations in that time frame, the property has clearly risen in value.
The highest sale price on Sunday belonged to Petra Mells of Ray White Port Adelaide as her three-bedroom home in the beachside suburb of Seaton sold for $575,000.
On Friday, Ralph Ucci of LJ Hooker Woodville had a 4 bedroom home in Fulham Gardens sell for $585,000 as the highest sale of the day, just edging out Harris Real Estate’s Tom Hector for the top prize.
George Kouzionis of Harcourts Property People got the ball rolling on Monday $423,000 sale of a 4 bedroom home in Birkenhead.
Jonathon Kiritsis of Harcourts Henley Beach and Scott Murphy of Scott Murphy Real Estate had the top sales for Wednesday and Thursday, with prices of $403,500 and $315,500 respectively.
A total of 9 properties throughout the week were sold prior to going to auction, while 3 were unfortunately withdrawn from the market.
32 properties failed to sell on the day and were passed in, resulting in them being put back on the market to be sold privately.
