Harris buys another business, to relocate HQ in July

Harris Real Estate continues to shake up Adelaide’s real estate industry after recently purchasing boutique agency Cocks Auld Real Estate.

Cocks Auld had previously been operating out of their King William Road office south of the CBD in Unley since their formation in 2006.

They will now shift out west to Rose Park after the merger between the two agencies after it was finalized early last week.

Directors David Cocks and Sam Auld will join the sales team at Harris, with property consultants Guy Measday and Tobi McFayden also becoming a part of the pink brand.

Cocks Auld is just one of a number of purchases Harris has made over the last few years, with the acquisition of Harcourts Platinum the most notable.

The agency has only been up and running since 2010, but has picked up a number of accolades in that time as it becomes a real force in the Adelaide property market.

Mr. Cocks told the Advertiser that the industry in Adelaide had gone under a major facelift since Harris first came on the scene.

“There is no doubt there have been significant changes in the real estate industry over the last three or four years,” he said.

As the company continues to grow, the time to leave their Rose Park head office for bigger pastures beckons.

Managing Director Phil Harris and his team will set up shop two kilometers down the road in a new hi-tech office in Kent Town.

90 out of the agency’s 130 staff members will operate out of the new headquarters as the industry begins to transition away from smaller offices, according to Mr. Harris.

“There will be more larger agencies, they have quality people plugging into platforms we provide because of the resources we can offer,” he told the Advertiser.

Harris will move into its new premises in early July.
