The finals of the Schools Idol Auction is set to take place today at Pultney Grammar.
Pultney secured the rights to host this year’s grand final as last year’s winner Isaiah Fabbro attended the prestigious college.
The competition was whittled down to a final six after the competitions heats took place just under a fortnight ago.
Cyril Saji of Rostrevor, Elizabeth Brlkic of Playford International, Ellie Vivlios of Pultney, Harry Plant of Birdwood, Sebastian Brook of Cornerstone College and Vincent Doran of Underdale all booked their place in the final after impressing in the heats.
Charlie Parer and Yixue Mei have traveled interstate from Queensland and New South Wales respectively to take part in the competition, while Lara Beiert has made the journey across the Tasman to take part.
Participants will be asked to conduct an auction simulation on a given property, answer questions from the bidders and audience, take bids and finalize a sale, with a maximum time limit of 15 minutes.
The participants will be judged on presentation, description of the property, skill as an auctioneer in taking bids, engagement and rapport with the audience and bidders, and their final sale.
Cyril Saji will get the ball rolling at 1.30 as the first participant, with the competition expected to finish at 4.00.
The competition will be live streamed in its entirety on Auctioneers SA’s Facebook paged, which can be viewed here.
