Attracting new business is the life blood for any business, in particular for real estate agents to ensure your agency stays profitable.
Sometimes this might be hard to accomplish and ideas on how to jump start your business can be tough to come by.
Luckily enough we have spoken to a number of the top selling agents from last financial year here in South Australia and they have each given us their top three tips for attracting new business while also telling us how they spend their working week.
What are your top three tips for attracting new business?
#1: Generating referrals through doing a 10/10 job for the people you do business with, whether it’s the purchaser, vendor, or neighbour that’s just coming to an open out of interest.
Most people love to talk about Real Estate and if you can let them open up and tell you how you can best help them, it shows that you’re a professional who cares, not just someone looking to make a quick sale.
#2: Speed. When it comes to answering enquiries and getting information out to buyers, I believe it’s very important to act with a sense of urgency. Through delivering quality information to buyers, when it comes time to sell their own home down the track, there’s a good chance you’ll be on their shopping list.
#3: Having a good profile in your area. Whether through social media, signboards in your local market, or just word of mouth, it’s important to make sure that people think of you when it comes time to sell.
What does your usual working week look like?
Monday – Wednesday: Majority of my time is spent on the phone following up from open inspections and contacting past clients in order to generate new business, while selling the current homes I have on the market.
Thursday – Friday: Mainly appointments consisting of appraisals and meeting with buyers for private inspections, or to put their offer on a contract for properties.
Saturday: Open for inspections
